There is no actual stress in the world
What is Stress?
According to Wayne Dyer it is your thoughts that create a belief. There are only people engaged in stressful thinking. Do you know that over 90% of what you worry about never actually happens? Stress is when your blood pressure goes up, your heart starts pounding, you may have difficulty breathing and you may experience stomach tension or get a headache.
Stress Management
Wayne Dyer’s advice is ‘Stop taking yourself so goddamn seriously!’ That stress and anxiety are choices we make that actually impair our ability to deal with the situation. In the moment, the only thing you can do is focus on the breath coming in and going out. As you do this; you relax and give your mind a break as your focus is elsewhere and very soon you realize ‘that was only a thought; and a thought can be changed’
Change your thinking; change your life
‘Is there another thought you can activate?’
Step 1: Deep abdominal breathing for three minutes to relax
Step 2: Stop thinking thoughts that make you feel bad; an example may be: ‘This is really hard for me right now, but I know I will be okay’
Step 3: Affirm: ‘All is well in my world’

Stress and Anxiety
Stress and anxiety are when you have moved away from wellbeing. When you experience the stress, it is an alarm alerting you of the need to really mind yourself in this moment, to stop and get still. As you breathe and focus all your attention on the breath, the anxious chatter subsides. You need to get still for a few moments for this to happen by placing your hand on your tummy and repeating a phase like ‘ Let it go, I trust and believe everything will be okay’
How to reduce stress
Exercise is proven to wash stress hormones out of the body so finding a half hour in the day to exercise means that things will not get on top of you, rather that you feel you are on top of things! Exercise releases endorphins into the system, helps the body to relax and helps you to keep perspective so get walking!
